Instructions for a SENSOR location

  1. Create a new message

The body of the message is where you request the specific SENSOR information that you want. We have tried to make this as easy as possible to remember by making the FIRST THREE LETTERS of the location name the actual letters/numbers to be entered:

For example: If you want CAStlepoint then enter CAS, or, if you want BEAn Rock then enter BEA.

There are a few exceptions to this rule, as not all of the locations could follow the naming convention. Make sure you have a look at the following list to ensure that you get the right information.

The current list of all our locations is:

Auckland Coast Guard Information

Members of the Auckland Coastguard get 50 free messages per year when they access their own locations from the Hauraki gulf. This service applies only to the FIVE sensors provided by the ACG, requests to any other location will incur the standard $1.50 including GST to your mobile telephone account. If ACG members access other locations on the TXT2WIND service they will incur the standard $1.50 cents per message.

When an ACG member sends a message to us, we do a real-time check to see if the phone number requesting the message belongs to a valid ACG member. If the phone number is not registered correctly, or if that person does not exist in the ACG database, they will incur the standard $1.50 including GST charge to their mobile telephone account.

Remember, anybody can send the code 'ACG' to WIND to get the latest Auckland Coastguard information, our network decides if you belong to the the ACG or not and then bills the end user accordingly.

For Coastguard members, please check with the Auckland Coastguard to make sure that your phone number is in their system. You can check their website at http://www.coastgaurd.org.nz for more details.
